Full and Fellow members have an annual skills development allowance of R 1 000.00 which may be used towards any skills development course that will equip them to better their work. Driving courses must be done at least every two years.
The Guild often offers courses at no charge to Full and Fellow members. Associate and Corporate members have access to these courses either at a discounted price or at no charge, on condition that places are available.

These events allow for excellent networking opportunities in the motoring industry and allows for positioned exposure to the Guild fraternity
The Guild has a Benevolent Fund for members and their families that provides loans to those in distress. The fund is under the sole and confidential administration of three trustees of the Guild.
The Guild runs a unique training programme where a junior journalist is selected to spend a year working at various motoring publications and public relations of a motor company.
The Guild sponsors the studies of a student in Journalism. The Guild deals with Study Trust, who administers the screening of possible candidates according to the Guild’s requirements

Emergency transport plus search and rescue R 250 000
Life cover increases from R 275 000 to R 500 000
Medical cover increases from R 50 000 to R 150 000
Hospital cover at R 2 000 per day up to 14 days
Life support R 100 000 up to 3 days
Trauma counselling R 1 000 per visit up to R 25 000
Kidnapping (includes hijacking cover) and increases from R 275 000 to R 1 000 000
Accident expert costs plus R 7 500 guaranteed hospital admission
Emergency childcare services pays R 300 per day up to R 10 000 per year
Claims preparation costs is up to R 50 000
Injury or death as a result of crime pays an extra 10% of any claim up to a maximum of R 100 000
Family/domestic workers medical expense (injured in same accident) R 50 000
HIV Lump sum benefit R 1 000 000 (accidental not sexual)
Mobility costs R 250 000
Rehabilitation costs R 150 000
Quadriplegia R 125 000 (25% of PTD benefit)

Income Protection for up to a year – Temporary Total Disability is up to R 3 000 per week. Temporary Permanent Disability is R 1 900 per week and a 14-day waiting period and actual earnings applies
Associate Members will now also receive R 500 000 life insurance and permanent total disability cover of R 500 000 with effect 13 March 2018.
All individual Guild members (Fellows, Full, Probationary and Associate) qualify for a 10 % discount with Air-O-Car, a company that specialises in parking a traveler’s vehicle at OR Tambo International Airport at their secure premises close to the airport and returning it upon the travelers’ return.
