Pretoria. For the sixth consecutive year, Mercedes-Benz South Africa (MBSA) has been certified by the Top Employers Institute as a Top Employer for its impeccable employee offerings. At a virtual event, the Institute announced this year’s research findings, presenting MBSA with the prestigious title of Top Employer Industry Leader in the automotive category for the third consecutive year.
Commenting on the certification, Executive Director of Human Resources and Corporate Affairs, Abey Kgotle said: “Retaining the Top Employer industry leader status for the third consecutive year is testament of our dedication towards making Mercedes-Benz South Africa a great company to work for. We are here, six years later since our initial certification because of our exceptional employee offerings. The recognition by the Top Employer Institute is a true reflection of how at MBSA we are tirelessly looking for innovative and inclusive ways to make our working environment an empowering experience.”
Top Employer certification is awarded to companies with an outstanding employee focus, who develop their people strategies to provide the best working environments for employees. The Institute certifies organisations based on the participation and results of their HR Best Practices Survey that covers six HR domains consisting of 20 topics such as People Strategy, Work Environment, Talent Acquisition, Learning, Well-being and Diversity & Inclusion and more. The survey evaluates the degree to which the topics are supported and implemented through strategic focus, integration of managers and use of technology in the individual companies.
Billy Elliott, Top Employers Institute Regional Manager: Africa stated: “Congratulations to Mercedes-Benz South Africa for achieving their 6th consecutive Top Employer Certification for 2022. They have been recognised as one of the top 20 highest scoring companies (tied for 12th) and the automotive industry sector leader for the 3rd year in a row. Mercedes-Benz continuously works hard to advance their people strategy underpinned by world class HR practices. Through the Top Employers Certification Programme, Mercedes-Benz has credibly proven to play a pivotal role in making the world of work a better place for their employees.”
