Nissan has reaffirmed its commitment to supporting South Africa’s agricultural sector by announcing its participation at the 54th NAMPO Harvest Day today.
This year’s showcase will, for the first time ever, be spread over five days between May 16-20. The show will deliver in the latest technology, machinery, innovations, and productivity solutions.
The agricultural sector has remained a pivotal pillar of the country’s economy over the past two years, providing food security in a time of crisis, despite its value-chain also being severely impacted by multiple bottlenecks and disruptions throughout the period, placing it under great pressure.
And as the country moves onto a post-Covid-19 era, where economic recovery will be crucial to the nation’s rebuild, Nissan remains committed to supporting growth and development across all sectors, including the agricultural sector.
“Nissan is a long-standing partner of the agricultural sector. We not only offer an evolving product line-up that delivers on tailor-made specs that suit both the work, performance and lifestyle needs of the entrepreneur and farmer – we also support key initiatives with mutually beneficial partnerships. These include initiatives such as Agri South Africa’s (AgriSA) Agri Securitas Trust Fund which contributes towards protecting the sustainability of the sector. Understanding the need for dependable transportation, we also provide the AgriSA leadership team with freedom of mobility through the locally produced Navara,” Stefan Haasbroek, Nissan South Africa Marketing Director, said.
Haasbroek added, “We are particularly honoured to be attending this year’s showcase, which will see the sector return to a semblance of ‘normality’ through the resuming of outdoor agricultural activities that involve different stakeholders. This plays an important role in the broader scheme of business as it comes with an exchange of ideas, access to the latest technologies and machinery and networking opportunities.”
Designed with the needs of the diverse South African customer base, the locally-produced new Nissan Navara blends style and functionality, providing all-day comfort and ability to perform in the toughest of terrains.
The 2022 NAMPO theme, “Experience It!” is an invitation to the agricultural industry and public to experience the biggest agricultural show in the southern hemisphere – and the Nissan Navara will be a starring attraction.
Several Navara models are on display, showcasing its extended and versatile range that harnesses grit, driving pleasure, durability, reliability, and fuel efficiency.
The event will play host to close to 800 exhibitors this year and is expected to attract thousands of visitors – with all Covid-19 safety protocols observed.
